About the event

We're coming to Fryeburg! Join Maine Micro Artisans as we present 8 fun days at the fair.

You want to be part of this. We crushed the Fryeburg Fair our first year and I am so excited to do it again. We produced over $20,000 in sales for our participants. Not only is the fair a great place for sales, it's an amazing space for connection and promotion. People LOVE seeing handmade, Maine made goods on the midway.

That's right the midway! We're not in a craft barn. We're out on the midway and open from 10 am to 10 pm every single day of the fair! This year we have seriously upgraded our infrastructure strategy. We're talking raised floor and walls! We're going to make the most of our space this year in a big way. Previously we had two 20' x 10' tents that created a 400 square foot space with folding tables.  We have a much bigger space and it's a triangle!

Our space can be up to 700 square feet if we are utilizing it properly. We're thinking outside the box, or in this case tent. We're planning to install flooring to keep the dust down. We discovered our first year that with the heavy foot traffic by day four the grass gives way to dust and things can become dirty. We'll have better infrastructure and displays than ever this year. We're working to stay within what is allowable, affordable and safegaurds your work in the best way possible. It's going to be fantastic. It's also going to be an intense amount of work. This event is eight very long days of sales with two days of setup and take down. We have to charge appropriately for the work we are doing.

I have crunched the numbers over and over. I have reworked the space time and time again. Additionally, I have had a lot of honest conversation with myself about what's fair and feasible. The conclusion that I have come to is that our original way we hosted the fair in 2022 was the way to go it just had the wrong pricepoint. I've corrected this.

Those who would like to have their work sold at the Fryeburg Fair will be able to participate for $100 and a 3% payment processing fee. There is no way to waive or reduce these fees. The space costs us $3,000+ per year, that's before infrastructure. We can't budge on this. What you get for your $100 is insane. Where else can you pay $100 to have someone work 100+ hours on your behalf at the biggest event in our state? Nowhere but MMA offers this!

We will setup this space the same way we do our shops. We'll do the merchandising, and we make the displays. Each person may have (2) 40 gallon totes of inventory for the event. We can't take more than this. If we are slamming through your work super fast, we'll let you know ASAP and we'll bring restocks. We will transport your work, set up, sell for the entire fair, break down, transport your inventory back and pay you. That's definitely worth $100! A limited number of spaces is available.

Things to keep in mind:

- You don't have to be a member of MMA for this, but you MUST follow MMA rules including no trademark, copyright violations!

- You do not get to setup your own display.

- You're not gauranteed a certain setup, space or exclusivity in your category.

- You may not enter the space and move your items.

The fair runs from September 29th to October 6th. You need to have your prepared work, tagged and to me no later than 9/22/24. If you are bringing your items to MMA in Bangor I need them by 9/15/24. You need to be prepared to retrieve your returning inventory and/or bins by 10/9/24. After you purchase your ticket you will be given a vendor number. That number and the price of your item must be on your tag. Tags need to be firmly affixed. Your items will get handled at the fair!

You should expect some loss. We will have security cameras and two people working the space at all times. We will still have sticky fingers. We are not responsible for losses. It is a risk you take with these types of events. Jewelry and small items are especially vulnerable. We will do our best for you to safegaurd your work.

Sales will be updated daily for the previous day. You will have the ability to log in to our dashboard and see how your sales are going! This is an exciting new feature for this year.

Reporting and payouts for the fair will occur by November 1st. We also have Maine Craft Weekend that week and the retail stores to run, reporting will take those couple of weeks. Payouts occur by check.

Spots for this will fill up quickly!
