Born and raised in rural Maine with the mountains in her backyard, nature has always been a huge part of Allison's life. She's spent her twenty some-odd years of life in awe of the natural world, admiring it, utilizing it, loving every aspect of it. Nothing makes her feel more at home than being deep in the woods, away from everything man-made, and just surrounded by everything wild. Her grandparents are the biggest nature advocates I've ever met, not just living by the land but respecting it and all that it can offer us. The things they taught her and showed her growing up have always played a huge role in who she is.
In rural areas roadkill is a common occurrence. Big game animals, and fur bearing animals are usually picked up and removed quickly but she began noticing that nobody ever removes or utilizes Porcupines-- So Allison decided to. Every wild animal, no matter the size or species, deserves to be treated with respect and honor, especially after an unnecessary death caused by humans. She's made it her mission to remove salvageable roadkill porcupines and utilize as many parts of them as she can so their death is not in vain. Instead of being left on the roadside to rot away and be forgotten, She tries her best to give them a second life, a second purpose in this life, in the form of jewelry and occasionally décor displays. Through support of family, friends, and the most amazing customers, Allison has been able to expand her shop to include many of the other natural things she loves in this world from gemstones, to different bone crafts, and you may occasionally even see wet specimens come through!
The natural world is a magical place, so take home a piece of the magic and help her honor these animals by letting them live on for years to come.
