Composition is the foundation of every visual journey. It’s the road map to explore, understand, succeed and enjoy your artmaking experience. Shapes and lines lead the eye, highlighting resting points and side paths. Color establishes mood and tells stories. Warm colors can create excitement, energy, and passion. While cool colors create a sense of calm and tranquility. Either can identify the major players at your art party. Value, the white to black contrast range, anchors your composition with shape and highlights important resting points. Take inventory and sharpen the tools of your creative cabinet. Clear your path. Stretch. Discover. Feel empowered and surprise yourself.
